What QuickVisa does
QuickVisa provides document review, case preparation and procedural support for Retirement Visa. The final decision is made by the competent Thai authority.
What a retirement visa actually is
Thai law does not have a single visa named “Retirement Visa”. In practice the term covers several routes for foreigners aged 50+ who stay long-term without the right to work: Non-Immigrant O (Retirement), Non-Immigrant O-A (Long Stay), in some cases O-X, and a one-year Extension of Stay based on retirement.
A visa is permission to apply for entry. Permission to stay is the date Immigration stamps after arrival. They are different instruments. A Non-O visa often gives about 90 days on arrival; a one-year stay is usually obtained later inside Thailand if the financial and other conditions are met.
O-A is issued only outside Thailand and typically starts with a longer stay, with extra documents such as medical insurance. Work is not allowed on a retirement ground. Bank-balance and income rules differ between consulates and Immigration offices.
Service process
Initial case review → document checklist → document verification → application preparation → submission/appointment support where applicable → status follow-up.
What we need from the client
The exact checklist is case-specific. We first verify passport/immigration status, the legal basis of the application and supporting evidence required by the responsible authority.
What the client needs for a retirement visa / retirement route
The list below is the official-source baseline. The exact checklist depends on category, nationality, place of filing and responsible authority.
- Passport. MFA retirement guidance uses standard passport evidence; O-A requires at least 18 months' remaining validity.
- Recent photograph.
- Evidence of current location for an overseas application.
- Age eligibility: retirement routes covered by the cited MFA material apply from age 50.
- Financial evidence for the selected route: the cited Non-O retirement guidance states monthly income of at least THB 65,000 or current balance of THB 800,000; O-A also provides THB 800,000, THB 65,000 monthly income or an accepted combination.
- For O-A: criminal-record certificate and medical certificate under the MFA requirements.
- For O-A using bank evidence: original bank guarantee/letter where required by the official checklist.
- For an in-country procedure: valid passport, current stay/immigration evidence and address evidence; the exact checklist depends on the extension basis and Immigration office.
