Recently, several holders of Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) passports were denied boarding on a flight to Mexico during transit at Beijing Airport. Airline staff erroneously claimed there was a temporary change in Mexico's visa policy, according to which their travel documents no longer met the conditions for visa-free entry. The Identification Services Bureau of Macau immediately contacted the Consulate General of Mexico in Hong Kong, which confirmed that there have been no changes to Mexico's visa-free policy for Macau SAR passports. The Bureau is actively cooperating with the airline to clarify the details of the incident.2026-11-02
