The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles and the Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. now require an FBI criminal history record issued within the last three months to obtain a long-term O-A (retirement) visa. It is emphasized that online printouts without an authorized signature are not accepted; an actual FBI report is required. At the same time, the standard Non-O retirement visa does not require a police clearance certificate. Starting February 28, 2027, when Thailand joins the Hague Apostille Convention, the FBI report will only require an apostille from the U.S. Department of State, without additional consular legalization. 2026-11-02
