Kazakhstan is introducing an electronic travel authorization system (QazETA) for citizens of visa-free countries. The system will become mandatory starting July 1, 2027, but a phased rollout will begin on November 1, 2026, at selected airports and land borders. QazETA is free, valid for 180 days, does not replace a visa, and does not extend the permitted visa-free stay (usually 30 days). Citizens of Thailand, who are eligible for a 30-day visa-free stay, will also be required to obtain QazETA starting July 1, 2027.2026-11-01
