Thailand has cancelled the 60-day visa-free regime, replacing it with a 30-day one for citizens of 60 countries, effective September 15, 2026. Visa-free entry is now exclusively intended for tourism and does not apply to short-term business trips. The number of land border entries is limited to two per calendar year for most nationalities. The eligibility for a Visa on Arrival has been significantly reduced to citizens of only three countries. Thai authorities may also request proof of sufficient funds (20,000 baht per person or 40,000 baht per family).2026-10-17
