Enhanced e-gates at Suvarnabhumi Airport are speeding up arrivals for some travelers, but creating a new entry status trap. If you are entering on a tourist, DTV, retirement, marriage, work, or other visa, use the manned counter unless an immigration officer directs you to the automated gates. Important: The e-gates are an immigration processing channel, not a visa. Do not accept a 30-day visa-exempt entry if you intend to enter Thailand on a visa or re-entry permit. 2026-10-13
