What is a Certificate of Residence?
It is an Immigration Bureau document that confirms the foreigner’s registered address in Thailand at the time of issue. It is not a visa and does not by itself grant a right to stay.
Where is it issued?
Usually at the local Immigration office for the address registered in TM30.
What is it used for?
Commonly for driving licence, vehicle matters, banks and other government services that ask for proof of a Thai residential address.
